I volunteer my services to the Blendon Woods Civic Association as an administrator of this web site,  the Facebook Group page, and the Nextdoor.com lead co-ordinator, and I distribute the newsletter, and hold the position of secretary on the BWCA Board.  I believe that successful community involvement is based upon information and dialogue. You need to take part and volunteer your skills, expertise, and passion to bring value to community organizations. So take part and get connected by joining our groups below! Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.

We can begin by doing small things at the local level, like planting community gardens or looking out for our neighbors.  We need to spend our lives building a global community of shared responsibilities, shared values, shared benefits. You will get satisfaction out of doing something to give back to the community that you never get in any other way. Volunteer!
