We have a neighbor who has had a beat up vehicle sitting in front of their house for years. At first we thought they needed it for legal reasons as it was the result of vandalism, but then it just sat there and sat there.

Is there any city rules on old junky cars, and if so, who can we contact to have some kind of request sent to the homeowner?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure all you have to do is call the police, tell them about the car and ask them to come out and mark the tires.  After that, if it doesn't move within a certain time period, the police will tow it away.

Yes, that is correct, if the vehicle is on the street and has not moved for 48 hours, you may call the police and they will mark it, tag it, and tow it, if there is no response or noncompliance.

We do not have the same codes as Columbus or Westerville cities.  Being a township, we fall under the jurisdiction of Franklin County.  Our spring 2008 HRAA newsletter addressed the issue of junk vehicles on page 2.  You can access it on this website.  Hope this helps.
