By now you may have read the Sunday May 11, Dispatch Metro section about the next rate increase from OAW.  (Ann Fisher)  As usual, it downplays the average consumer bill.  If I could copy it, I would put it on our website, but my computer will not let me.

Gov. Stirckland has done nothing for the consumer.  In Thursday's May 7, 2009, Columbus Dispatch,  Letters to the Editor. Mr. Joseph C . Sommer hit the nail on the head about our governor and the PUCO.

When I think of all the petitions, all the letters, the meeting with over 180 people, and the disregard for all of it, I am in no way interested in jumping through the same hoops.

We need legislation to stop this nonsense; this gouging.  Any one have other practical ideas?

Hi Pam,

I was one on the door to door petitioners and attended the meeting also. I wonder..has anyone called six on your side?

Shandrea Thomas of channel six did more than one story about our problem.  Don't know if that counts as six on your side.  Anyone can try anything, but my hopes for them making a difference are slim.  I would be pleasantly surprised - elated!

We (at least) need laws on the books.

The water here has been expensive for as long as I've lived here - over 30 years.  It's not going to change.... Get a water barrel, front loading washer and water saving toilet, conserve as much as possible and then pay the bill.  A lot of energy and money is being spent on things that will not change.

When you move into an area with private water this is just how it is.
