At their annual awards luncheon Wednesday, October 21, 2009 the Franklin County DUI Task Force awarded Certificates of Merit to Officer Zachary L. Smith and Officer Erick D. Moynihan of the Blendon Township Police Department.

 

Additionally, the Blendon Township Police Department was honored with the Law Enforcement Agency Award for 2009. Special congratulations to all of our officers who have worked very hard to help keep our streets safe, especially Officers Smith and Moynihan, SGT Boggs, and SGT Wayt.

 

On October 16, 2009, Blendon Township co-hosted with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the first ever Sobriety Checkpoint in the township, on Westerville Road just north of State Route 161.  The checkpoint was in operation from 9:44pm on Friday October 16th until 2:20am Saturday October 17th.  The results are as follows:
