Parking in The Yard?

Posted in: Huber Ridge Area

I am entirely fed up with the fact that not only have my neighbors parked an excess of 5 cars out in front of their house on average per day...it seems as though they have taken to nightly parking another car in their front yard? Not only is it rediculously unappealing, I worry that I won't be able to get a buyer in my front door when I put my home on the market.  I have contacted the owner of this home- which not suprisingly is a Rental LLC.  As one might expect...nothing! Is there anything to be done about this sort of horrific appearance short of tolerating it and taking 10grand off my asking price for the shear inconvenience of looking at this mess??? HELP

Dear Neighbor,

Cars parked on the grass are very unsightly and definitely send a message about a community.

Your post has been forwarded to our Director of Code Enforcement, Bryan Rhoads, by Carolyn Cordray, HRAA Executive Committee member, for his review and to help the situation.  He cannot help you very well, however, unless you provide your address and contact information. You can do it via the Blendon Township website (we have a link on our community pages) or you can email him at bryan.rhoads@blendontwp.org.

My next comments are really a plea to all viewers of this post - not just you.  Please do not wait to submit your complaints until you are ready to put your house on the market. Honestly, I have been watching and listening closely for over four years.  I can think of several (former) residents who, out of total frustration, expressed their concerns "on their way out."

Please help us all by communicating your complaints before total frustration.  Many hesitate to do so because they fear being labeled as complainers.  Those of us on the Executive Committee will forward your complaint and you can remain anonymous, if you wish.  That is why our association exists - to help the community be a community at peace and to prosper.

Warm Regards,

Pam Clegg, Block Watch Coordinator
