We are thinking about moving into the neighborhood. When we looked at houses the other night we noticed the faint smell of sewage. Is this typically a problem in Huber Ridge?

Glad to hear that you are considering joining the Huber Ridge community. It's difficult to know exactly what the smell was you had noticed during your visit here but occasionally neighbors do notice that the mulch "cooking" across the street from the neighborhood gets turned and if there is a breeze or wind some residents can smell it. Kurtz Bros., Inc. accepts and recycles yard waste so that would be my best guess as to what a smell might be. However, most residents don't experience that so it depends on where you are located within the Ridge. We live on Caracas and never smell it until we are traveling down Dempsey toward Westerville Rd on those few days a year the mulch pile gets stirred up. Perhaps other residents can also let you know their experiences.
I hope you decide to settle in our neighborhood as we have much to offer a family wanting to join a community. We have a very active neighborhood association that coordinates several events a year and publishes a newsletter quarterly. Additionally we have an organized Blockwatch in place and as a result of many factors our neighborhood has earned the highest trend code available by the Franklin County Auditor.
This website (huberridge.org) is sponsored by the Huber Ridge Area Association and there are past newsletters, articles, photos and discussion threads so please have a look around here too.
