Dear Neighbors,

I just received an email yesterday afternoon from a neighbor on Makassar that states the following:

My next door neighbors car was broken into, her wallet was taken and her credit card was already used by the time she called to report it stolen.
Police said there were several other car break ins on our street and Karikal.
Might want to pass the word.

After checking, I have not found anything posted on this HRAA website, nor the Blendon Township website that communicates the recent rash in theft, but this neighbor's report is sufficient for me to notify all of you.

Remember, Wednesday, April 20, 6:30 p.m. your HRAA is sponsoring a Block Watch training for all residents.  If you plan to come, please let me know so we can plan accordingly for materials, seating, and refreshments.

According to the reporting neighbor, the theft on Makassar occurred between 3am ( when the resident got home) and 5 am (when the stolen credit card was used).  The car was 20 or so feet from the reporting resident's bedroom window and neither neighbor heard a thing.  The thieves broke the car window.  The victim was awake and didn't hear anything either.  The thieves also took a GPS, went through the glove box and arm rest console between the front seats.

Dear neighbors, please remember to lock up, light up, listen, and report.  Get valuables out of vehicles whenever possible.

Update:  total of three thefts on Makassar, one on Karikal, and one on Paris N.
