Residents, Teh headlines in teh paper this morning satates that "Plan stifles consumers' advocate' The current state budget as approved by the house cuts the budget for the Office of Consumers' Counsel and places a gag order on the OCC from commenting on further deregulation of the natural gas industry. The OCC is funded by the utility companies. Cutting this budget will not reduce the deficit or help create jobs. It will have the opposite effect. High utility rates will decimate our neighborhoods and turn parts of Ohio into a wasteland. OAW stands to gain with this legislation. The OCC will not have the staff or money to fight the smaller companies - they will have to focus on the large utilities. Just think what our bills would be if OAW had received the 26% rate increase they asked for. Sen Bacon wanted our vote for trustee and state senator. Now he needs to pay up and vote for us. Please send this message to Sen Bacon, 03@senate.state.oh.us 614-466-8064, and Sen Jimmy Stewart, SD20@senate.state.oh.us, 614-466-8076,senate majority leader. Forward as much as possible: Facebook, TV, newspaper, internet, fill voice mails and e-mails. This is urgent!!! Every citizen of Ohio stands to loose if the budget for the OCC is cut. Pay attention Ohioans - This proposal is purely political payback for the election and has nothing to do with reducing the budget or job creation. Our leaders think we have short memories and will forget between now and the next election. They pandered to us in the last election and now they have to pay up.
