Huber Ridge Area

Here it comes again neighbors. Read the morning paper. OAW has filed for another rate increase. Hopefully the "Fight the Hike" group will be able to help but we need to start sending letters to the PUCO in protest NOW.   The more noise we make the more we can possibly make a difference.   How many of us have seen a 20% raise in the past year?? None I expect. Start writing those letters!!!.

page A9 of the October 19, 2011 Dispatch OAW PUBLIC NOTICE Case number 11-4161-WS-AIR (what is this, our fifth rate increase in six years from this company?) rate increase announcement. Current rate per ccf = 5.741200 requesting 7.2290; current MONTHLY WATER CUSTOMER CHARGE = 9.51 requesting 11.50; current REVERSE OSMOSIS SURCHARGE was $4.50 flat monthly requesting $1.4179 PER CCF (that equates to $5.67 for 4 CCF - do the math); MONTHLY SEWER COMSUMPTION CHARGE PER CCF was 8.83580 requesting 9.8610; and more charges listed that I am still working through.

Please note that also listed on this notification is the following (in caps): ANY PERSON, FIRM, CORPORATION OR ASSOCIATION MAY FILE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 4909.19 OF THE REVISED CODE, AN OBJECTION TO SUCH PROPOSED INCREASE RATES BY ALLEGING THAT SUCH PROPOSALS ARE UNJUST AND DISCRIMINATORY OR UNREASONABLE.
