are residents allowed to have swimming pools  in their back yards ? I am not talking about childrens wading pools There is someone over on Cairo that has one in their back yard and it does not have a fence around it ( none of the homes on this part of Cairo have fences) the pool is nasty and also seems to be a safety concern as there are alot of young children that play at the park or ride their bikes on the path.....just looking for answers

Hi Neighbor,

Yes, pool are permitted but they do require a fence, according to Franklin county code.  Contact Joe Bailey, jbbailey@franklincountyohio.gov.  If stagnant, standing water is a concern about this pool, then you can contact Mike Adair of Franklin County Health Department, mradair@franklincountyohio.gov.

We did have an article in The Herald about pools some time ago, but for me to search would be too time consuming.  Feel free to search on our home page if you have time.  :)

Thanks for your concern, I would be concerned as well.

Hello again, neighbor.

I neglected to refer you to our own code enforcement people, who would be the best to contact regarding this matter.  Very sorry,

Bryan.Rhoads@blendontwp.org, or bwayt@blendontwp.org

Branch Wayt and Bryan Rhoads.

Have you contacted or heard from anyone yet?

Thanks,

Pam Clegg

Our homeowners policy requires a fence and a locked gate.
