Please, PLEASE report the issue!
We have only been residents for two years (and I think we really lucked out on our street) but I absolutely HATE walking or driving around certain parts of the neighborhood. I know the economy is bad - repairs are expensive - that does not keep you from keeping GARBAGE off of your property, or furniture piled up in front of your house, or letting your dogs bark like maniacs in the yard all day.
I honestly think the best way to encourage people to take a little more pride in their homes is via peer pressure. There are a few houses on my street in particular that look incredible - they look like they belong in a MUCH nicer neighborhood than this one. A couple look like they belong on a magazine cover! Whenever I see those houses, it puts the pressure on. I want to be one of 'those houses' - the ones that people drive by and appreciate - not cringe! |

May many (all) capture your outlook and attitude, neighbor. Thank you, for wanting to be "one of those houses" - and it is really one of those neighbors who has done the work. You are SO correct in your assessment of basic elbow grease and consideration of your neighbor that can and should be doable.
To be fair, I can totally understand why some folks are hesitant to report. Frankly, reporting should not be necessary.
Again, thank you. Meanwhile, I will try to do my best on behalf of my family and the community.
