FYI, Blendon Townshp belongs to a consortium that  bids on behalf of its members.  Bids were submitted and only Rumpke responded.  The other companies  chose not to  respond. Other companies  have been higher in the past in their bids. 

Rumpke is making changes for 2015.  Suggest you come to a trustee meeting to get correct and updated information. 

I am grateful for the service. If we had no trash pickup for weeks our neighborhoods would be unliveable and we would have rats everywhere instead of in just  a few locations.

There is a trustee meetng on Wed.  Sept. 25 at 6:30PM  at the senior center.  After the business meeting there is an open forum where you can ask questions and offer comments.  The meeting is open to the  public.   

I agree Rumpke has terrible service.  They have skipped picking up some or all of our trash so many times.  When I call, they just say they'll register the complaint and pick it up the following week.  It is all out there, trash, yard waste and recycling, they just do not come.  The most they have done is gave me a $1 credit, when I pointed out that we have paid for all these pickups and they are not upholding their end of the agreement.  Wow. Awesome.  We also resorted to renting their trash container because the guys literally throw all the bins and cans towards the curb area and broke no less than 5 of the cans.  Good way for them to make extra money, don't you think?!  Then, because I did complain after 3! weeks of not picking up our yard waste, the guys on the truck called me nasty names because I "complained," while I was in my yard with my young child.  I DO NOT LIKE RUMPKE!  Awful service, bad attitudes and they seem to not have to uphold any type of agreement, but certainly expect prompt payment (which they get from us, I might add).  Grrr.  This has been the same type of service since they started here several years ago after Local Waste was removed.

In regards to our ability to take various trash, recycling and yard waste and drop it ourselves....then, why am I REQUIRED to pay them for a job they do not do??
