At the Blendon Township Trustee Meeting tonight, the Board authorized the award of the Police Commendation Ribbon to BTPD Detective Tammy Phillips for outstanding performance of duty during the Jane Jeurgens’ homicide investigation.
CITATION
For outstanding performance of duty while serving as the lead Detective of the Jane Juergens’ Homicide Investigation during the period October 20, 2013 through May 8, 2014. Detective Phillips did not waiver under the weight of the awesome responsibility. She insured that every phase of the investigation was conducted in a thorough and professional manner, resulting in the conviction and incarceration of an extremely dangerous criminal. Her actions allowed justice to be served for the victim, the victim’s family, and the community as a whole, and were a shining example of the police motto; “To Protect and Serve”.
