Our Trustees wrote the following:
Dear Resident,
Effective January 1, 2009 all trash in Blendon Township is being collected by Rumpke. Per the Ohio Revised Code (Section 505.27), only one trash hauler is authorized to do the collections in Blendon Township.
The Franklin County Board of Health requires that "all combustible and non-combustible solid waste shall be disposed of in a licenses solid waste disposal facility." Recognizing that there are a few cases where licensed trash haulers live in Westerville, the following exemption to having trash picked up by Rumpke is approved.
"If a person is registered as a commercial waste hauler, a light hauler, a class I or class II intermittent hauler, or a public waste hauler with the Health Commissioner of the Franklin County Health District, that person may present proof of such registration to the Blendon Township offices and upon approval of the Board of Trustees, be exempted from waste collection by Rumpke."
There are no other exemptions allowed.
Persons vacating their premises for 90 days or more, may call Rumpke at (1-888-786-7531) to arrange for a shut off of the trash pick up.
