Our tax dollars help pay for street sweeping in our community. This is an expense that benefits us four to five times a year. Cleaner streets make the whole neighborhood look more attractive. But it costs money - lots!

Our township does not provide leaf pickup at the curb and never has. What the township does provide is weekly yard waste pickup by Rumpke. We are expected to bag our leaves and yard waste for Rumpke using paper lawn waste bags or trash containers only - Rumpke will not accept yard waste in plastic bags.

Sweeping your own street gutter after mowing and raking leaves is always a good idea. It improves the appearance of the neighborhood and ultimately helps to eliminate clogged sewer drops (which are costly to clean out). Keeping debris from going down the sewer drop helps the environment and MAY PREVENT FLOODING should the sewer get clogged.
