Pam is correct, The Blendon Township Trustee's just signed a contract for 5 year's with an option for 2 additional for a possible total of 7 years with Rumpke at the Township Trustee meeting (8-5-09). This contract is for 5 years with an increase of I believe $0.60 per month. Early 2008 the Township was interested in joining a trash consortium, which meant the township could not join until 2010. This left us with out a trash contract for 2009 and they (Trustee's) bid out a 1 year contract. December of 2008 rolled around and the contracts were presented, there ensued a long discussion between Local Waste and Rumpke about prices and service between the trustee's. The end result was Rumpke won the bid with a vote of 2 to 1. This year Blendon Township was to join in the trash consortium for bidding of our trash haulers. Five trash contractors picked up the bidding packets and only 1 returned with a bid, Rumpke. Among those that picked up a biding packet was Local Waste and they did not return a bid. Rumpke was awarded the contract and the contract was signed at the Blendon Township Trustee meeting - Aug 5th, 2009 by all of our current Trustee's. In writing this I have not approved or disapproved of the contracts I have just listed the brief facts as i know them. I recommend that if you have or experience problems with Rumpke please keep notice's and notes and let Bryan Rhoads know of the problems.
