Hi New Neighbor!

Welcome to Huber Ridge!

Remember you just moved in and you probably did a thorough cleaning. Especially with a toddler, I imagine you did an extra-heavy-duty cleaning! Your bill may go down a little, depending on your habits.

We as a community have shared ways to conserve water. A lot of residents have installed appliances and fixtures that have helped. Others have just learned how to use less. Contact anyone of us in the Huber Ridge Area Association and we'll help you find creative ways to do that.

I've come to rationalize the pricey water with the fact that I appreciate my neighbors, enjoy clean streets in the winter, have a great park that's constantly being improved, a fantastic police department and fire/rescue team, and trustees that are working to make it even better for us. I'm sure you'll see this for yourself.

Paying a high water bill doesn't give you nicer neighbors, or any of that other nonsense you are talking about.  Also, people (normally) clean very well at least once a month, so don't give false hopes to a new residence that their water bill will decrease.

I will agree, try and use more efficient appliances/products that will help.  We changed our 12.5GPM water head to a 2.5GPM one, low flow toilets, HE front loading washer, and 2 rain barrels.  That will improve the water bill more than not giving your house an "extra-heavy-duty cleaning".  We are a family of 2, and average a $35 water bill a month.
