cairo rd has a problem with people speeding through the community. the residents have asked for help several times and received a speed reminder with a rader that tells you your speed. this was posted there for several days 2 years ago, our police dept. patrols the area occassionally looking for violators. the residents on cairo say they still have a problem with excessive speeders using cairo for a cut through, so they have parked their cars on the street to slow down the speeders. is it dangerous? or is it even more dangerous to allow speeders to hit the kids on the street? the answer the residents on cairo have choosen is kids first. this practice could be in use on other streets in our community also. as a driver it could be dangerous, as a parent it could be fatal. i do not live in the general area of cairo and on occassion use cairo to access glengary shopping center from the community. i have found myself pulling over to allow cars from the opposit direction go through, and it can be a inconvienance. but i remind myself of the action these residents have taken to protect their families and understand my inconvienance. right or wrong this is what the residents on cairo feel will and does work for now. this may not be what you want to hear, but it is the answer i received from the residents there.
thank you
